The NYPD has a bad record with its treatment of trans people, so one woman – who was arrested for an illegal subway swipe – is suing them.
A trans woman named was killed in DC this week, and the DC Trans Coalition reports other violence as well.
I am never going to understand this kind of violence.
This news saddens and brings tears to my eyes and anger in my thoughts and a full range of other strong emotions for this late-in-life TG (newly aware). I feel I must do something for my unknown but ‘sister kin’. But not sure what or how. I still struggle to bring myself out in public and its hard to see another life taken in hate. This really must stop. It breaks my heart.
Please…everyone…be SAFE! speak to and teach your TG friends if you have to. Encourage them to help spread the word. Make sure our young are aware and careful.
