But Bellifemine should have left well enough alone. After the episode aired, someone on Twitter wrote to him, “Dude you made out with a dude.” He responded: “hahaha nah I didn’t. It give me a kiss on the cheek.”
You don’t refer to human being as “it”. Ever. For any reason. That is not specific to trans people or people with unidentifiable genders.
Is this really that hard? Stop being assholes, people.
Hi Helen,
I haven’t yet come to that issue with my husband. I would however lose my shit if someone said that to him. I just began reading My Husband Betty as my husband and I are just beginning to embrace his desire to transition. I think right now I’m more on board with it then he is, because I think part of me thinks if we get it going asap, the easier it’ll be for me. Selfish, yes. But he’s not complaining. I would love for you to check out my blog (that I just started, thanks to you!) http://wifeinterruptd.blogspot.com/ Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
You’re awesome!
Well-said. Thank you. Our gender is not an excuse to use dehumanizing language.
