It seems sometimes that all we ever hear about in terms of what kids do with their Spring Break is of the ‘girls gone wild’ variety, but Sirena sent me this link to a movie that documents a very different type of Spring Break spent by some kids helping clean up houses in New Orleans.
I’m not surprised to see that Acorn organized these trips; they’re one of the best orgs I know at building community.
Sex at IFGE
Today I finally get to do my ‘trans sex & identity’ workshop at the IFGE conference, and I’m really pleased to have the chance. I’m wondering if I should kind of warn people at the get-go that they should be prepared for talk of strap-ons. Maybe I should have added a note in the program description: The word fuck will be used.
Off to Philly
Well, I’m off to Philly, by myself, without Betty, all by my lonesome.
But really, I’m excited about going.
Okay, I’d be more excited if it didn’t mean sleeping two nights without Betty.
But still, I’m looking forward to being part of Mona Rae Mason’s presentation on Thursday, and of finally doing my ‘trans sex & identity’ workshop on Friday.
See whoever’s going, there!
(No cats, either! How am I going to sleep?!)
Weill & Brel
I had the pleasure last week of seeing Johanna Weller-Fahy’s Whisky Bar performance @ the Duplex, and I recommend people go to her last two performances – on April 5th & 6th. I’d go again except that I’ll be in Philly for the IFGE conference.
If you don’t know the music of Kurt Weill & Jacques Brel, you should, and this is a great introduction.
